Sunday Supper...Steak and Penne Pasta with Tomatoes and Fresh Mozzarella

Sunday Supper is really Saturday Supper for us...

We had the best dinner at the lake last night... All of our favorites...

As I prepare this post I chuckle...growing up we had a friend that said when she thought of our family she thought of people who loved to eat...she pegged us perfectly...we are not real big people...but we just love to eat...

Sunday Suppers have become our most popular posts...not sure why, other than the recipes we choose are just soooo good, because we just love to entertain and eat...

That being said...I am not a food stylist...or even a great cook, so as I was preparing dinner and taking pictures to share...it just made me laugh...here goes..

a dinner that you will love as much as we did I AM SURE!!!

We love a good steak...filets and tenderloin are favorites because they are so tender.,..but short on flavor...strips and ribeyes have more flavor...but not near as tender...our secret...

Hendrickson's salad dressing...It is a great marinade as well...you can marinade up to two days... but at least over night....then set the steaks out to come to room temperature before grilling to medium rare...

these steaks have a sweet savory taste that is just incredible...and so tender...

The pasta... we could make a meal out of this by itself...

Fresh tomatoes, mozarella, garlic and olive oil...can it get any better than that?

a little salt and fresh ground pepper...squeeze of a lemon...Yum.Yum.

Serve room temperature...you can't keep your fork out of this one...

And it's still Summer so we just have to serve more fresh grilled corn...

with melted basil butter ...of course...

It's so casual tonight...

I'm already patting my full stomach after eating such a wonderful meal. HA I love ribeye's, they are my favorite steak and while I hate to admit it, I think it is the extra fat that runs through the steak that gives it the best flavor.

I suppose you are trying to keep cool...it is supposed to be 108 degrees today! Sigh...I can't wait for cooler weather. :)♥♥

This looks absolutely delicious! I'm laughing only because my Monday post is also on steaks and I never do that on this blog…I usually save that for the more personal one but these were just so yummy! I guess we are all on the same wave length! Or else it is just that time of year to grill out steaks! No matter….I am pinning this recipe for sure! Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

I can understand why these posts are so popular. The meals are light and mostly healthy, usually use fresh ingredients and are not too complicated - exactly what we are all looking for! I love the idea of the salad dressing marinade. I am going to look for something similar to use here in South Africa. x Sharon

Mona,
This is why these Sunday Supper posts are so popular. The food always sounds delicious and the recipes don't usually involve a full day of shopping for ingredients and another full day of prep time. Just my kind of cooking, delicious and somewhat easy. Thanks for this.

There really is nothing quite like a steak and pasta supper! I prefer filet steaks myself, but marinated for about two days to really let the flavor set in. That pasta looks delicious too! The great thing about this kind of supper is that it’s actually quite healthy. Nothing is cooked with oil, and the veggies in the pasta are fresh. Even the corn is grilled. I think I’ll put all these in the menu at our next big family gathering!
