So Exciting!...The Landscape Re-design Reveal...
Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 10:36AM I can't tell you how excited I am to share this post with you, grab a cup of coffee because this is really good!!!
If you've been following you know that I've posted about changes I would like to make this season in our landscape. My good friend, Debra Phillips with Scentimental Gardens is sooo talented. She is launching an online landscape design service and has re-designed two of our gardens and made fabulous suggestions for another.

Debra is extremely talented and her plans include instructions that are executable down to the finest detail.
Enjoy!!!!!
From Debra...

Where do you begin when you want to achieve beautiful gardens? Inspiration abounds, plant choices are seemingly endless. How about a style? Do you favor formal, cottage or a mix of both? Make those decisions and you are still not finished. How do you position everything, what plants make for good companions, how do you make your gardens interesting all year not just May-July, the easy months?
Daunted?
Don't be, it's a process we will explore and then practice at the lovely home and grounds of Mona's .

Do you recall her recent post 'Think Spring and join us in the gardens!'? I believe we were all ready and looking at our own gardens anew after those images of romantic gardens, rich in depth of texture, and patterns. Properly enhanced with perfectly chosen ornamentation!

And now for the new design...

Do you feel inspired? Can you take it all in? Debra is amazing. I love it all and can't wait to get started. Even hubby is on board! Yeah!!! If your garden needs some creative tweaking you should consider employing Debra. She can help with small projects or an entire landscape. She can take your garden from the ordinary to the extraordinary. Contact information is debra@scentimentalgardens.com.
Thank-you Debra. This has been an awesome experience!
Now it's definitely your turn. Let's talk!

Mona,
What a transformation awaits your garden! I like the mix of topiaries, with colorful plants and just wait until the gardens are in full bloom with all the lovely plants and scents. It will be heavenly!

Debra did such an amazing job of translating she design ideas. I love all the purples, shapes and varying heights, your gardens are going to be stunning Mona and I can't wait to see the transformation. I need to hire Debra but I'm afraid it would take her years around this place. What a talent!
Wow, Mona! This is going to be one lovely garden. I now that you are so excited.

How exciting for you, Mona. And the lavender you've been itching to grow! Nepata is easy...more lovely lavender froth all summer. Sarah Bernhardt is one of my favorite peonies...huge blooms. Debra did a great job for you, congratulations! XO Trish
Wow...Mona it is going to be even more spectacular - know you are thrilled. Please keep us updated as progress begins!!
I can totally appreciate a great landscape design, but I sure don't know what the heck I'm talking about. This was fantastic and I just love people who can inspire me and teach me a few things along the way! Your home is really special...mostly because of the love that has been poured into it and will now be planted around it :) XO, Kelly
I am completely in love with the color selection...so beautiful...
and the design is very nice..plants are reasonably low maintenance too...
it's going to be lovely when installed...

How gorgeous are these choices and what a beautiful garden you will have! Debra is so talented and her eye for color and texture is spot on. Having just wlaked my garden and realizing how much work it needs, I'm feeling a little envious, Mona.

garden inspiration books. It's a
gorgeous evening and spring
has finally SPRUNG.....Lilacs and
peonies in a few weeks; yay!

a big shout out to the talented Deb!

Know what, I love everything about this, but especially seeing the surrounding terrain gives one an idea of how your home is oriented. Such a beautiful piece of property.
Can't wait to see it all come to fruition. xx's Marsha
Gorgeous!!!!! I need this in my garden - I am totally overwhelmed in my garden since we move in last year - and too exhausted to do it myself. Wish Scentimental Garden was closer :) Great post!
Dear Mona,
What a fun post. The design, discriptions and illustrations are charming and thoughtful. Debra must be such a treat to work with.
I am colaborating with a client friend in the Bay area to design a garden for her town house. We are using a similar color pallete with lost of roses and herbs but the climate in California is more Mediterranian.
So often gardens are not designed in consideration of the interior design of the home.
When we are out doors we do not see the interior of the home but when we are indoors every window is a view and an extension of our interior design, color schemes and life style. When the landscape and interior are in harmony it is such a delight.
I can't wait to see the after pictures this time next year!
Have fun,
Tres
